About ELEGOO
ELEGOO was founded in 2015 in Shenzhen, China, by Chris Hong. The company started out making Arduino-compatible electronics and open-source hobbyist kits for the STEM and maker community, building a reputation for affordable, accessible hardware before moving into 3D printing.
ELEGOO's breakthrough product was the Mars, a budget resin (MSLA) 3D printer launched in 2019 that undercut the market on price without cutting print quality, quickly making resin printing accessible to hobbyists who previously couldn't justify the cost. It was followed by the larger-format Saturn resin line for bigger prints and finer detail.
In 2021, ELEGOO expanded beyond resin into FDM (filament) printing with the Neptune series, which has since grown through several generations (Neptune 3, 4, and beyond) adding auto bed-leveling, direct drive extruders, and higher print speeds. Today ELEGOO sells a full ecosystem of resin and FDM printers, filaments and resins, and spare parts, and remains one of the most popular budget-to-mid-range 3D printer brands worldwide.
