Bambu Lab was founded in 2020 in Shenzhen, China, by Ye Tao and a team of engineers who had previously worked on DJI's consumer drone division, including the Mavic Pro. Rather than treating desktop 3D printing as a cheap-hardware problem, the founding team approached it the way they had approached drones \u2014 as a robotics and systems-integration problem, combining motion control, sensors, and software into one reliable machine.<\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After roughly two years of closed-door development, Bambu Lab launched its first printer, the X1 Carbon, in 2022, funded through a Kickstarter campaign that raised over HK$55 million.
